Condition: 3 repaired wormholes blending well. Very good colors and impression. Very good overall condition.

Notes: Very rare oban size print, deaccessioned from the Los Angeles Museum of Art, gifted to them by N.J. Sargent.

You can tell that Koryusai was a student from Harunobu, as the style is very similar. His early work was also in the Chuban format, as Harunobu. However, from 1776, until 1782, Koryusai started the new Oban size format for his prints. A similar print is referenced by the Minneapolis Institute of Art HERE
